The super bowl

Creating this piece was really fun for me, I haven't used clay since first grade and being able to come back to it was a real learning experience, and a cool one.  I had decided to call this the super bowl because by it being a big bowl I thought it would be cool to call it the super bowl.  My inspiration for this were the vases that I saw and the other bowls that different people have created themselves.  It took quite a bit of time and patience to create this and to smooth it out, but it eventually came out right.  I took quite a few risk here and there considering that this is clay I had to be really carefully with it, making sure that it would not dry out or break while moving around with it and blow drying it.  One thing that I definitely can say is that I did improve big time on my clay skills and for the first time I used it to create something entirely different.  I got stuck a little bit here and there with my ideas, but I eventually kept going and coming up with new ideas.  I really observed carefully with how I did this so that I wouldn't mess up, but by not dealing with clay for a really long time it made it really difficult.  Right now my artwork is a little bit incomplete, but I can say it will express a feeling of peace of kindness once I add my colors on the bowl.  I really enjoyed this piece and I am glad I did, because I forgot just how enjoyable clay can be, I do hope that I create something with clay in the near future.
