In this piece me and my group used acrylic, a canvas, and of course paint brushes. Personally I liked to call this painting "Simply Abstract", just because me and my group just came up with ideas as we went and had no idea where to go with it. Me and my group was inspired by our original abstract pieces that we did at the beginning of this class, and by other abstract paintings that others created. When we started we did not know how to go about this abstract piece, so we just simply started slapping paint on the canvas not knowing where it would lead, but somehow it came out pretty good. In doing this we took many risk, and along the way we even messed up the color scheme a little and had to go back over that, but as we made mistakes it only made our piece even better each time we messed up. Another thing that was highly important, as I said in my last piece was focusing on the environment and on the subject matter, which is another reason to why we messed up, but when doing this we saw what we did wrong and went back over it. I found it really enjoyable to work with a group, because we could collaborate our ideas with each other as artist, learn together, and build new skills by learning from each other. I personally was never a fan of acrylic but being able to use it helped me improve my skills with it and I was able to see in more depth just how different it was from water color. In this piece there was no feelings to convey, but simply the feeling of abstraction and creation. Overall I really did enjoy being able to work with a group and being able to create such a interesting piece with them.
