Relief Printing The first Printmaking process was called relief printing. I had decided to name this one "abstraction", because I thought it looked very all over the place with the lines. What inspired me to create this was all of the rest of the abstract pieces I had created in the past. With this print I first had to take a piece of linoleum and carve what I wanted printed on the print paper, then roll some paint on it, and lastly stamp it to the paper. I feel as this one was my most successful, because I had more practice with it and was able to go by with it on a step by step process with knowing what I was doing. Though I made it a bit abstract, the colors I also used it's what made me like this one the most as well as the lines that were in the print. By far out of all the ones that I made I think this one was one of the coolest and most successful due to the texture I added into it. Screen Printing This one came out pretty cool, I had decided to call this one simply "triangle". What inspired me to do this was simply other pictures of shapes I saw online, so I thought that it would be pretty cool to see how a simple shape would turn out, but I feel that I could have done something more different to it. The first one was ok, but I simply did not like how plain and simple it was. If I were to do this over it would have more added more to it instead of a plain simple triangle, in fact maybe even more shapes could have been added to it or a triangle of different textures. Other than that, it wasn't bad I simply thought it was to dull and plain, unlike the other styles of print I had created. Monoprinting
Last but not least I did mono-printing , and with this I had decided to call the first one "random" and the second one "diamond". This one was by far out of the one that I really enjoyed, because all I had to do was put some print onto a metal plate and then draw my design on the plate and it made it feel more like free style drawing, which is what I really liked about this. I also really liked this one because it was so straight forward and simple and this was probably the first where I actually got to draw my design out on a metal plate with ink. After they were complete the outcome looked pretty cool and different than what I'm used to seeing. Beyond anything else this was one of the most fun to mess a round with, in fact I might just do something with this in the future, just to get more of a feel of the mono-print. |
